Benbrook Middle-High School is adding a little extra color to the school week as students celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.
The school will hold Hispanic Heritage Spirit Week Sept. 14 through Sept. 18, with a different theme each day celebrating Hispanic culture, history, role models, and sports.
Monday begins with ¡Representa!, inviting students to wear the colors of their flag or those of a Hispanic country. Tuesday celebrates Herencia Tejana, with cowboy attire recognizing vaquero and vaquera traditions.
On Wednesday, students can dress as a Hispanic role model or wear a shirt honoring one. Thursday turns to sports, with jerseys representing Hispanic teams or players.
The week wraps up Friday with ¡Fiesta!, when students are encouraged to wear festive or piñata-inspired colors.
The five-day celebration gives Bobcats a fun way to learn, participate, and recognize the people and traditions that are part of Hispanic heritage throughout the school community.
