Some competitions require speed. Others require skill. This one requires an appetite.
The City of Benbrook is inviting residents to test their corn-eating abilities at the Annual Heritage Fest Corn on the Cob Eating Competition on September 19 at Dutch Branch Park.
Sponsored by Hoffbrau Steak & Grill House, the event challenges contestants to devour 10 ears of sweet corn as quickly as possible in a race against the clock.
The competition is open to participants ages 17 and older, with more than $200 in cash and prizes up for grabs. The three fastest finishers will earn top honors, while every contestant will receive a commemorative hat and T-shirt.
Participation is free, but spots are limited. All contestants must register by August 31 to secure a place in the competition.
The event begins at 3:30 p.m. during Benbrook Heritage Fest and promises plenty of entertainment for both participants and spectators.
Whether you’re a seasoned competitive eater or just looking for a memorable Heritage Fest experience, this may be your chance to earn bragging rights one ear of corn at a time.
