Survival Swim Lessons Open for Benbrook-Area Families.

Summer means more time around pools, lakes, and splash pads, which is why many parents are looking for ways to help keep their children safe in and around the water.

Enrollment is now open for a July 20 Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) session in the Ridglea Hills area, led by a certified instructor with Parker County ISR.

Unlike traditional swim lessons that focus primarily on swimming skills, ISR is designed to teach infants and young children self-rescue techniques. Children learn how to roll onto their backs, float, rest, and breathe if they unexpectedly enter the water.

Each lesson is tailored to the individual child, taking into account age, developmental level, temperament, and medical history. The goal is to help children develop the skills needed to respond independently in a water emergency.

With pools, water parks, and summer vacations in full swing, many families view water safety as an important layer of protection during the warmer months.

Parents interested in learning more about the July 20 session can contact the instructor through Parker County ISR or by messaging Cassandra Garramone for additional information and enrollment details.

As summer activities continue, programs like these offer families another opportunity to build confidence in the water while learning skills that could make a critical difference when it matters most.
