Benbrook-based Tandy Leather Factory reported a solid start to 2026, with sales and operating income both increasing during the first quarter.
Since moving its Headquarters to Benbrook, the company brought in $19.7 million in revenue, up 3.2% from the same period last year. Tandy also improved its profit margins, largely due to pricing adjustments and continued sales growth.
While net income came in much lower than last year, company leaders noted that 2025’s numbers were heavily boosted by the sale of its former headquarters, making this year’s comparison a bit unusual.
CEO Johan Hedberg said the company was pleased with another quarter of growth and its ability to continue returning value to shareholders through dividends. He also pointed to increased investments in operations, technology, employee compensation, and facility costs following the company’s 2025 headquarters move.
Tandy ended the quarter with just over $10 million in cash on hand and $33.7 million in inventory.
Founded in Fort Worth, Tandy Leather operates 100 stores across the United States, Canada, and Spain, specializing in leatherworking supplies, tools, dyes, hardware, and DIY kits.
