A Safe Place for Caregivers to Breathe, Share, and Be Understood.

Caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s, dementia, or memory loss can feel isolating, even in a close-knit community like Benbrook. That is why a local caregiver support group is offering a welcoming space for conversation, encouragement, and practical help.

On Wednesday, January 7, 2026, caregivers are invited to gather for a morning of connection and support at Benbrook United Methodist Church. The group is presented by the Alzheimer’s Association North Central Texas and is designed for anyone walking alongside a loved one at any stage of memory loss.

These monthly meetings create room to share experiences, talk through real challenges, and learn from others who truly understand the journey. Trained facilitators guide the discussion, helping caregivers exchange helpful ideas, discover local resources, and feel less alone in the process. Coffee and donuts will be available, making it a relaxed and welcoming start to the day.

The meeting begins at 10:30 am at Benbrook United Methodist Church1122 Bryant Street in Benbrook.

For additional information, caregivers can contact Shelly Young at 817-500-9713 or email syoung1@alz.org. Support is also available around the clock through the Alzheimer’s Association Helpline at 800-272-3900 or online at alz.org.

If you are caring for someone with dementia, this group is a reminder that you do not have to carry the weight alone.
