For nearly four decades, the Benbrook community has carried a beautiful tradition of generosity through Benbrook’s Spirit of Christmas, a program that pairs donors with local children in need during the holiday season.
Since 1986, school counselors have helped identify students from Benbrook schools who could use a little extra holiday cheer. Those children are then matched with community donors who provide gifts, clothing, and other items to make their Christmas morning brighter.
This year’s effort is now underway, and residents are invited to participate by adopting an “angel” from the program. Donors can even request the number of children they wish to support, along with age or gender preferences.
To take part in this year’s Spirit of Christmas, contact organizer Beth Gatlin and help continue one of Benbrook’s most meaningful holiday traditions—making sure every child experiences the joy of Christmas.
