Where to Donate Food and Frozen Goods.

A Benbrook resident recently asked if the YMCA’s food pantry accepts frozen items, sparking a helpful exchange across the community.

The answer is no—the YMCA share shelf, located just inside the front door, only accepts non-expired, non-perishable goods.

For frozen donations, neighbors pointed to alternatives. The Funky Town Fridge at Westside Presbyterian has freezer space, and the 24/7 community pantry at 8700 Chapin Road is another reliable drop-off spot.

Even better, some residents stepped up to connect directly, offering to share freezer clean-out items with families in need. It’s another example of how Benbrook neighbors continue to look out for one another.
