North Texas Giving Day is almost here, and the Friends of the Benbrook Library are asking the community to help bring a new chapter of access to local readers.
The goal: raise $8,000 to purchase and install a book vending machine that would sit outside the library, allowing families to check out books and materials around the clock.
This effort is part of North Texas Giving Day, the nation’s largest community-wide fundraising event organized by the Communities Foundation of Texas. Donations, big or small, will help make this dream a reality and extend the library’s reach far beyond normal operating hours.
The fundraiser runs through Thursday, September 18. Residents can donate online at North Texas Giving Day.
