Sometimes helping your community starts with something as simple as walking a dog.
That is the heart behind 4 Paws Benbrook, where volunteers are being invited to step in and support local rescue efforts that care for animals waiting for a second chance. The organization is looking for more helping hands, whether for a few hours here and there or as part of a regular weekly routine.
The work goes beyond feeding and cleaning. Volunteers help walk dogs, care for kennels, assist with events and bake sales, support fundraising efforts, and, most importantly, spend time with animals that need attention and care.
Located at 469 Winscott Road, 4 Paws Benbrook continues to serve both pets and the wider community through a team built on compassion and consistency.
Volunteer hours run Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. During the summer, teens ages 16 and older can volunteer independently after an initial meet-and-greet with a parent.
For those interested in getting involved, Rick Hunter, Director of Volunteers, is the point of contact at rickhunter7637@gmail.com.
For animal lovers looking to give back close to home, this may be one of the simplest ways to make a real difference.
