Summer camp is in full swing at Benbrook Par 3 Golf Course, where local kids are spending their days learning more than just how to swing a golf club.
The First Tee of Fort Worth program recently kicked off its Benbrook camp, giving young golfers the opportunity to build skills on the course while also developing qualities like perseverance, discipline, confidence, and leadership.
Despite the Texas heat, campers are staying active with plenty of shade, ice water, and encouragement from instructors and volunteers.
Parents are already noticing the impact. One parent described the experience as “the best experience ever,” saying their child has learned a great deal and looks forward to attending each day.
Programs like First Tee highlight the power of community partnerships and mentorship, helping young people grow both on and off the course. For many families, it’s a reminder that sports can teach lessons that last far beyond the final hole.
Sometimes the best summer memories start with a golf club, a little patience, and a group of adults willing to invest in the next generation.
