Blustery weather did little to keep golfers away from the first Wednesday Night Scramble of the year at Benbrook Par 3 Golf Course.
More than 50 players showed up despite winds topping 30 miles per hour, turning the evening into a mix of tough shots, close calls, and plenty of laughs on the course.
One of the night’s most memorable moments came when Austin nearly holed out a shot that stopped just 23 inches from the cup. The wind made scoring difficult for most players, but a few teams managed to stay under par. Mike and Chris finished at two under to take second place, while Austin and his younger brother Benson claimed third.
After the main round ended, players added a little extra fun with a bonus putting challenge known as the losers’ game. Competitors had to putt using their opposite hand. Robert came out on top and walked away with a $50 prize.
Off the course, a taco truck kept golfers well fed, with many players grabbing extra food before heading home. Photos from the evening can be viewed at https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1CTBAqLa9y/.
The Wednesday Night Scramble continues each week, and golfers interested in joining can sign up online or drop by at 1801 Winscott Road in Benbrook.
