What You Can and Can’t Leave at the Curb in Benbrook.

Keeping Benbrook clean runs on a system most residents rely on every week, even if it often goes unnoticed.

The City of Benbrook partners with Republic Services to handle residential trash, recycling, brush, and bulk pickup. Under city ordinance, all homes and businesses are required to use this service, helping maintain safe and sanitary conditions across the community.

For many households, the biggest questions come when it is time to clear out larger items. Common bulk pickups include everyday household items such as couches, desks, bookcases, bicycles, bathtubs, toilets, and box springs. These are the kinds of items the city is equipped to handle without much hassle.

There are limits, and they matter. Items such as tires, batteries, paint, chemicals, and construction debris, including tile or roofing materials, will not be collected due to federal and environmental regulations. Appliances like refrigerators and freezers require proof that harmful chemicals have been properly removed before they can be picked up.

Timing is key. Residents should place brush and bulk items at the curb by 7 a.m. on Wednesdays. From there, collection typically happens within 72 hours. Loose brush must be cut down to manageable sizes, no longer than three feet and under 50 pounds, to ensure safe handling.

For those who prefer a direct drop-off, bulk items can also be taken to the Southeast Landfill at 6288 Salt Road in Fort Worth.

Questions or special situations can be handled by calling Cecilia Ventura at 817-249-6008 or Republic Services at 817-332-7301.
