Westpark Elementary Teacher Arrested Following Alleged Student Assault.

Fort Worth ISD is facing new scrutiny after the arrest of Gail Patterson, a teacher at Westpark Elementary, on charges of Injury to a Child, Elderly Individual, or Disabled Individual.

Patterson, who served as an Inclusion teacher, was taken into custody on September 16 and released the same day after posting bond.

According to FWISD Watchdog, the alleged incident occurred nearly a month earlier, around August 22. Reports suggest there may be video evidence showing the teacher choking a male student.

The delay between the alleged incident and the arrest raises serious questions for parents and community members. Why did it take several weeks for action to be taken? And did the district attempt to withhold information?

As this case unfolds, the Benbrook community will be watching closely for transparency and accountability from Fort Worth ISD. Parents want reassurance that student safety remains the district’s top priority.
