Western Hills High School is turning the page on a new chapter in Cougar athletics with the addition of Coach Rheagan Whitefield as the school’s new head volleyball coach.
Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Blake Moilan shared the announcement this week, welcoming Whitefield to Cougar Nation and expressing excitement about the future of the program.
Whitefield brings five years of experience in FWISD, working at both the middle school and high school levels. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and a master’s degree in Kinesiology, both from Tarleton State University. She is also a third-generation Tarleton graduate and a third-generation educator.
Her coaching philosophy reaches beyond wins and losses.
Whitefield says her vision is not only to build stronger athletes, but to help develop confident young adults who thrive, commit to excellence, and pursue their dreams with purpose.
Outside the gym, she enjoys spending time with her son, traveling, and watching Netflix, bringing both energy and balance to the role.
She says she is excited to join Western Hills and become part of the school community.
For Cougar volleyball, it is more than a coaching hire. It is the start of a new season with new leadership and a fresh voice guiding the program forward.
