There was a little extra emotion mixed in with the smiles this week for the Western Hills High School tennis team as senior players were recognized with personalized senior baskets during a team celebration.
The baskets, put together with help from supporters and families, were filled with gifts and keepsakes marking the final stretch of high school tennis for the graduating Cougars. One detail that stood out in particular was the custom “baby heads” created by Vianet Garcia, which quickly became a favorite part of the celebration.
Moments like these tend to sneak up on seniors. One day it is early morning practices and bus rides to matches. Next, teammates are handing out baskets and realizing the season is almost over.
For the Western Hills seniors, it was a chance to pause, laugh together, and take in one more memory before graduation arrives.
