It was a weekend of celebration for the Western Hills High School Choir as students made school history at the TMEA All-State auditions on Saturday, September 20.
Hosting 22 high school choir programs on campus, Western Hills not only welcomed singers from across the region but also walked away with record-setting results of their own.
Nine WHHS students earned spots in the Region Mixed Choir, advancing to the second round of auditions, while seven more were selected for the Treble Honor Choir. The Cougars’ strong showing secured them third place overall among all 22 participating schools.
Special recognition goes to top performers Kendyl Northrop and Joshua Raga, both earning 1st Chair, and Dai’Juan Williams, who claimed 2nd Chair. With only eight first chairs awarded across the competition, Western Hills’ two top placements marked a standout achievement.
The event not only showcased the students’ exceptional talent but also highlighted the growing strength of the WHHS music program—a true point of pride for the school and the Benbrook community.
