West Fort Worth Gets a Grocery Game-Changer.

Just outside Benbrook, a major upgrade is coming to far west Fort Worth. H-E-B has confirmed plans to open a brand-new grocery store near the booming Walsh community, right off FM 3325 and the I-20 Service Road.

Set to break ground this October, the 128,000-square-foot store is expected to be completed by December 2026. It will be the second H-E-B location in the Fort Worth area, following the Alliance location’s debut in spring 2024.

The new store will sit on a 19-acre lot H-E-B purchased in 2024, aiming to meet the rising demand from Walsh residents. With 1,500 homes already built and thousands more on the way, the area is projected to eventually house up to 50,000 people.

While homebuilding has been rapid, commercial growth in the area is just starting to catch up. Worthington Bank is developing a new headquarters nearby, and UT Arlington is planning a new campus that could serve at least 10,000 students by 2028.

H-E-Bโ€™s expansion continues to make waves across North Texas. Since 2022, the company has launched eight stores in the region and is building seven more. For west Fort Worth, the upcoming Walsh location promises not just groceries, but a sign of whatโ€™s to come.
