VFW Haunted House Needs a Little Help Getting Scary.

Before the doors open on Halloween night, Benbrook VFW Auxiliary 10429 needs help building a haunted house, and neighbors can supply the scares.

The Auxiliary is collecting donated materials for its Oct. 31 Haunted House at VFW Post 10429, including wood scraps, plywood, foam board, PVC pipe, nails, screws, paint and heavy-duty black trash bags. Organizers are also looking for creepy dolls, spiderweb material, hay bales, fake blood, makeup and costumes ranging from vampires and clowns to medical and military attire.

Donations can be dropped off at VFW Post 10429, 1000 Stevens Drive in Benbrook. For questions or to arrange a donation, contact committee chairman Emily White at 817-301-7326.

The Haunted House will run 5 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, with a free Kids Zone available for all ages. Haunted House admission is $25 for ages 13 and older and $15 for children 12 and younger. Proceeds benefit the VFW Post Improvement Fund.

Businesses and families can also help through event sponsorships or monetary donations.
