Veale Ranch Data Center Debate Draws Attention Near Benbrook.

A growing number of residents near Benbrook and west Fort Worth are continuing to raise concerns over the proposed Veale Ranch data center project, even after a recent community win pushed developers to withdraw a requested tax incentive package.

The proposed $1.1 billion industrial campus near Chapin School Road is still legally allowed to move forward, and now many neighbors say the conversation has shifted from stopping the project to demanding stronger protections before construction begins.

Residents have voiced concerns ranging from potential 24-hour low-frequency noise and increased strain on the Texas power grid to questions surrounding water use, environmental impact, and long-term property values.

Community members are encouraging nearby residents in Benbrook, Chapel Creek, and Ventana to contact Fort Worth City Council District 3 and request stricter oversight measures before development begins.

Among the requests being shared with residents are:

  • Mandatory 24/7 decibel monitoring
  • Independent ERCOT and power grid impact studies
  • Larger physical setbacks and tree screening buffers
  • Water usage and contamination monitoring requirements

Residents are also being encouraged to contact District 3 Council Member Michael Crain directly by email at or by phone at 817-392-8803.

Supporters of the outreach effort say the goal is not just opposition, but also accountability and enforceable protections as large-scale industrial growth continues to push closer to residential neighborhoods.

At this point, the Fort Worth City Council has not announced publicly any additional restrictions or operational requirements tied to the project. The discussion, however, is clearly gaining momentum among nearby homeowners who want a stronger voice in what comes next.
