With fall sports underway, the UIL is warning Texas high school sports fans to watch for fake accounts, ticket links and game broadcasts popping up on social media.
The University Interscholastic League says it does not post about individual games or sell regular-season tickets. Fans looking for tickets or livestreams should instead use links provided by their school or district.
The UIL also says @uiltexas is its official handle across Instagram, Facebook and X. Other accounts claiming to represent the UIL should be treated as fake.
The warning is especially timely as football, volleyball and other fall sports bring more game links into social media feeds each week.
Before clicking or entering payment information, Benbrook and Western Hills fans should check the schoolโs official page first.
