As of yesterday, TCU has officially joined beach volleyball’s elite.
In a thrilling 3-2 win over Loyola Marymount on the shores of Gulf Shores, Alabama, the Horned Frogs clinched their first national championship, becoming just the third school to do so since the tournament began in 2016.
The title match came down to the wire, tied 2-2 before Daniela Alvarez and Tania Moreno delivered the final point, capping off an undefeated run. Teammates Anhelina Khmil and Ana Vergara also went unbeaten, starting the championship match with a commanding first-set win.
Ranked No. 2 heading into the tournament, TCU blazed through the bracket with wins over Georgia State, Texas, and Cal Poly. The quarterfinal victory over Texas was especially sweet, pushing their in-state record to a perfect 42-0.
This isn’t just a big win—it’s a bold statement. TCU has arrived at the top of collegiate beach volleyball, and they’re not done yet.
