Street Repairs Set to Begin on Winscott and Mercedes in Benbrook.

If your daily drive runs through Winscott Road or Mercedes Street, next week may require a little more patience.

The City of Benbrook announced that beginning Monday, April 27, street repairs will start on Winscott Road between Mercedes Street and Loop 820, along with work on Mercedes Street near Walmart and Russell Feed Store.

The project is part of the city’s 2026 Concrete Maintenance Program, which aims to improve heavily traveled sections of roadway that see steady local traffic.

Drivers should expect lane closures and slower travel through the area as crews begin repairs. The current phase is expected to take about 30 days, depending on the weather.

For many residents, these are roads tied to everyday routines, school drop-offs, grocery runs, and the drive home from work. That means delays will likely be noticeable, especially during busier hours.

City officials are encouraging motorists to plan ahead and use alternate routes when possible to avoid backups.
