A big moment of pride for Benbrook and Western Hills High School unfolded this weekend as Dontae Salgado wrapped up his audition season with an impressive showing at the Area level.
Competing against top musicians from across the region, Dontae earned 7th chair in the Bass Trombone room, finishing just a few spots shy of qualifying for All State. His performance capped months of preparation and dedication, and it did not go unnoticed.
Out of the entire Fort Worth ISD, only 12 students advanced to audition at Area, and Dontae was one of them. He represented his school and district with focus, professionalism, and confidence from start to finish.
While the All State cut was narrow, the accomplishment speaks volumes about his talent and work ethic. Benbrook has plenty to celebrate, and Dontae’s journey is one worth applauding.
