A Benbrook restaurant is responding after a customer raised concerns online about a recent meal and said she later began feeling ill.
The customer shared her experience in the Benbrook Soapbox Facebook group after ordering dinner from Sakura Japanese Restaurant, saying the food looked and tasted unpleasant and that she was worried she might be experiencing food poisoning.
Sakura responded publicly, apologized for the experience, and asked the customer to contact the restaurant privately so staff could review the order and better understand what happened.
The restaurant said this was the first possible illness concern brought to its attention and that it takes food quality and safety seriously. Sakura also acknowledged that some customers have previously raised concerns about odor, something the restaurant said it has been working to improve.
Sakura is asking anyone who recently had a meal that did not meet expectations to contact the restaurant directly. Those with concerns about an order can send Sakura at Benbrook a private message or call 682-747-4370.
The restaurant also advised anyone feeling ill to seek medical attention.
The customer’s post raises concerns about possible food poisoning, but the material provided does not establish that the meal caused an illness.
