Party City, the beloved destination for party supplies and seasonal celebrations, has announced it will close all stores nationwide, including nine locations in the Fort Worth area.
The closures come as the company begins an immediate wind-down process, with corporate layoffs already underway. While Party City locations will remain open for liquidation sales until February 28, discounts of 5 to 50 percent are already being offered.
Known for its vast inventory, Party City has been a go-to for everything from balloons to bulk candy to party décor. However, rising competition from online retailers and budget chains like Spirit Halloween contributed to the company’s challenges.
Despite emerging from bankruptcy in 2023 with a restructuring plan, Party City couldn’t sustain its operations and is now set to shutter all 64 Texas stores, including those in Fort Worth, Arlington, and Lake Worth.
