Motorcyclist seriously injured in Loop 820 crash near Benbrook.

A motorcyclist was seriously injured Friday evening after a crash on westbound Southwest Loop 820 near U.S. 377 in Benbrook.

The crash was reported just after 6 p.m. on Friday, July 3, and involved a motorcycle and one other vehicle. According to witnesses at the scene, the rider, a man, was initially unconscious with a head injury and was believed to have suffered a seizure before later being observed breathing.

Emergency crews closed the right shoulder and outside lane while they treated the rider and investigated the crash. By about 7 p.m., another witness reported the motorcyclist was sitting up before being transported by ambulance. Traffic had returned to normal by approximately 7:30 p.m.

Authorities are investigating what led to the crash.
