Lady Bobcats Softball Finish Perfect in District with Statement Win.

There was a question coming into the night: could the Benbrook Lady Bobcats close out district play unbeaten? It did not take long to get the answer.

Just minutes into the first inning, the Lady Bobcats turned the game into a showcase at the plate, scoring 12 runs before the Dunbar Lady Wildcats could settle in. By the time the inning ended, the tone was set, and the outcome was never in doubt.

The Lady Bobcats kept the pressure on in the second, adding eight more runs behind a steady stream of hits. By the third inning, a single from Mya Vasquez pushed the lead to 21-0, sealing a dominant finish and a perfect 12-0 district record.

It was not just one bat or one moment. It was the whole lineup. The Lady Bobcats finished with 20 hits, with Natalya Muzquiz, Kaylee Boswell, Maddy Davila, Madison Canada, and Jolie Hornbeck each recording multiple hits. Vasquez and Davila created extra pressure on the bases, combining for multiple steals as part of a six-steal night.

In the circle, Canada was just as sharp. She allowed one hit over three innings, struck out six, and did not issue a walk, keeping the Lady Wildcats from ever finding a rhythm.

The win moves the Lady Bobcats to 19-12 on the season and closes district play the same way it has all year: consistent, aggressive, and in control.

Next up is Rio Vista on Monday, a familiar opponent that pushed the Lady Bobcats earlier this season in a 13-12 game. After that, the focus shifts to the postseason and a Bi-District matchup against Eagle Mountain.

This perfect district run says plenty about who this team has become, and hints at what could still be ahead.
