Lady Bobcats Flag Football Stay Unbeaten on Teacher Appreciation Night.

BENBROOK, TX — A week after a dominant district opener, the Benbrook Lady Bobcats returned to Bobcat Stadium under cooler, windier conditions, with a steady crowd on hand for Teacher Appreciation Night.

Before kickoff, players, coaches, and staff gathered for a photo, recognizing the educators who support the program. Head Coach Cribbs kept it simple, thanking staff for showing up and reminding them how much they are valued by the team.

Once the game started, the Bobcats’ defense set the tone and never let it go. Judith Jimenez, Angel Roberts, and crew led a relentless front that kept the Wildcats on their heels all night.

The pressure showed up in big moments, including multiple interceptions. Camila Rivera came away with two, and Bella Johnson added another.

Offensively, the Lady Bobcats took a little time to find their rhythm. After some early struggles in the passing game, they leaned on the run to settle in. That shift opened things up, leading to a first-half touchdown from Emily Hassler, followed by a Lainey Owens extra point for a 7-0 lead.

The defense added to it before halftime, with Jimenez breaking through for a safety that pushed the lead to 9-0.

In the second half, Benbrook took full control. Rivera’s second interception set up a touchdown connection from Arie Caldwell to Libby Wilkinson, with Owens adding the extra point. Johnson’s interception later in the half closed the door.

The 16-0 win moves the Lady Bobcats to 2-0 in district play, built on a defense that consistently created pressure and flipped momentum.

They return to Bobcat Stadium next Wednesday at 6 pm to face Young Women’s Leadership Academy with a district title on the line.

It is the kind of game that brings a community back out, especially for a team that keeps finding ways to deliver.
