I-30 Weekend Closure Near Benbrook: What Drivers Need to Know.

Benbrook drivers should plan ahead this weekend as a major stretch of I-30 will shut down in both directions for bridge demolition work.

From 9 pm Friday, February 6 through 3 pm Sunday, February 8, I-30 will be fully closed between I-820 West Loop and Chapel Creek Boulevard while crews remove the RM 2871 Longvue Avenue bridge. Several main-lane ramps in the area will also be closed during this time.

Frontage roads will remain open, but through traffic is encouraged to use I-20 and I-820 West as alternate routes. Delays are expected, especially during peak travel times.

The closure marks an early step in a larger bridge replacement project, with the new bridge scheduled to open in summer 2026. Drivers heading through or around Benbrook this weekend should allow extra time and consider alternate routes before hitting the road.
