FWISD Shifts Elementary Start Times for 2025–26 School Year.

Fort Worth ISD is shaking up class schedules for the upcoming school year to bring a smoother experience for students, families, and staff. Starting in 2025–26:

  • Elementary schools will run from 7:40 a.m. to 3:10 p.m.
  • Middle school hours stay at 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • High schools will begin at 8:15 a.m. and end at 3:45 p.m.
  • Early college high schools shift slightly to 8 a.m.–3:30 p.m.

This change follows feedback from parents and aligns with efforts to better coordinate bus schedules and daily routines. Benbrook families with younger students will see the biggest change, with elementary start times moving up by about 10 minutes.

The aim is to create a more efficient school day—from drop-off through after-school plans. If you’re planning school calendars or coordinating carpool schedules, make a note of that extra time in the morning. Let me know if you’d like more details on bus routes or school-day timing variations.
