When families begin facing serious illness, one of the most misunderstood topics is often hospice care. A free educational webinar next month aims to help answer those questions in a clear, compassionate way.
“Hospice 101: Everything You Ever Wanted to Know, But Were Afraid to Ask” will be held Tuesday, June 9, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. The online event is open to family caregivers, healthcare professionals, and anyone interested in learning more about hospice services and end-of-life care.
The webinar is hosted by the James L. West Center for Dementia Care and the North Central Texas Area Agency on Aging, with funding support provided in part by Texas Health and Human Services.
Featured presenters include Jamie Cobb, Vice President of Dementia & Caregiver Education, and Hollie Lowe, Director of Education and Family Support Services, both with the James L. West Center for Dementia Care.
Licensed nurses, vocational nurses, social workers, and licensed professional counselors in Texas may be eligible to receive complimentary continuing education credits. Certificates of attendance will also be available, with some restrictions applying.
Registration is free and available through Eventbrite.
Whether you’re caring for a loved one, planning for the future, or simply looking to better understand hospice care, this session offers an opportunity to learn from experts and get answers to questions many people hesitate to ask.
