Former Fort Worth Piano Teacher Sentenced to 10 Years for Child Indecency.

Just east of Benbrook, a disturbing case that rocked a Fort Worth private school has concluded in court.

Trent Muse, a former piano instructor at Trinity Valley School, was sentenced this week to the maximum of ten years in prison after pleading guilty to five counts of indecency involving children.

Muse, 29, was arrested in June 2024, following allegations that he exposed himself to students during private piano lessons throughout the 2022-23 school year. The Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office confirmed the charges, and court proceedings revealed that the abuse affected at least five children. However, a lawsuit filed by parents alleges a broader pattern involving at least 16 young girls.

The school, in response to Muse’s arrest, terminated him in April 2023 and reported the incident to Child Protective Services. Since then, a third-party investigation was launched, prompting a review of school policies and support services.

For many families, the sentence brings some closure, but questions remain. With lawsuits moving forward and a community still reeling, parents and students are left hoping for healing, justice, and stronger safeguards in the future.
