Emergency Sirens Sound After Highway 377 Crash.

Benbrook residents were met with an unsettling mix of howling winds, heavy rain, and a flurry of sirens all day Monday—long before the city’s regular emergency test scheduled for the first Wednesday of each month.

The commotion wasn’t just weather-related. Shortly before 8:30 am, a pickup truck heading south on US HWY 377 lost control near the intersection at Steve Hawkins Home Blvd. The vehicle spun out on the slick roadway and crashed, colliding on its passenger side with a light pole.

Emergency responders quickly arrived on the scene, navigating the storm to assess the damage and offer aid. They’re working to get the truck off the traffic light pole, but it’s proving tricky—the pole keeps shifting.

Thankfully, the driver is fine, and no injuries or fatalities have been reported as of this writing.

As Benbrook continues to weather today’s storms, officials remind everyone to stay alert and cautious on the roads.

This story is still developing—more updates will follow as details are confirmed.
