Summer nights at Dutch Branch Park are about to get busy again.
The Benbrook Youth Baseball and Softball Association has opened registration for its Summer Coed Softball League, with games set to begin June 9 and run through July. Teams will play on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at Field 7 in Benbrook.
Registration is open March 1 through April 30. The league is capped at nine teams and includes a five-game guarantee plus a playoff tournament. The league fee is $225 per team, and each team pays $15 per umpire per game, for a total of $30 per game.
For many local players, it is a chance to stay active during the summer, gather friends, and enjoy some friendly competition close to home.
