A routine delivery turned into an unexpected test of the community this week, and Benbrook passed it with flying colors.
At Hey Hottie Cosmetics, owner Lacey Shelby was facing a massive shipment of 224 boxes stacked on 30 pallets. The delivery driver was contracted to unload at the back door, but instead refused to exit his truck, leaving a small team scrambling to manage the load safely.
That is when Benbrook showed up.
Employees from Mr Jim’s Pizza of Benbrook rushed over to help, making sure the situation stayed safe and manageable. At the same time, Jessica Rosas from Cosmos FC dropped what she was doing, stepped in to address the situation directly, and ensured the driver followed through. Together, they helped unload the pallets and move them inside.
What could have been a frustrating and unsafe afternoon quickly became a reminder of what makes Benbrook special. Neighbors noticed a need, stepped in without hesitation, and took care of one another.
For local business owners, moments like this are a reminder that community is not just a word. In Benbrook, it is action.
