Bobcats Sophomore Sets New 400 Meter School Record.

A strong season on the track added another milestone for Benbrook Middle High School this week.

Sophomore Jayden Deane set a new school record in the 400-meter dash earlier today, finishing the race in 52.32 seconds. The mark becomes the fastest recorded time in the event in school history.

The 400-meter dash demands both speed and endurance, making it one of the most challenging events in track and field. Deane’s performance reflects the steady improvement that coaches hope to see as athletes move through the season and continue to build strength and confidence.

For the Benbrook Bobcats program, moments like this highlight the work that goes on behind the scenes at practices, early-morning workouts, and weekend meets. They also give younger athletes in the program a new benchmark to chase.

As the track season continues, Deane’s record stands as a reminder of how a single race can become part of school history. In Benbrook, that history now includes a sophomore who ran one fast lap and left his mark on the Bobcat record books.
