Benbrook Bobcats’ boys soccer team gave the home crowd a night to remember at Bobcat Stadium.
Facing Carter Riverside on Senior Night, the Bobcats carried a six-game winning streak into the match and a clear goal to settle unfinished business. The last meeting between the two teams ended in a narrow 1-0 loss for Benbrook. This time, the Bobcats flipped the script.
Roberto Olono sparked the offense early in the first half. After tracking down a cross-field header from a teammate, he controlled the ball, worked through traffic, and fired a long shot from outside the box that found the back of the net. Minutes later, Olono struck again with a powerful header to give Benbrook a 2-0 lead at halftime.

Carter Riverside managed a late goal, but the Bobcats’ defense held firm. The match ended in a 2-1 victory, pushing Benbrookโs winning streak to seven games.
The win moves the Bobcats to 15-9 overall and 10-3 in district play. The team now sits in first place in the district and has secured a postseason berth.
Benbrook will close out the regular season Friday night with a road match against Dunbar at 8:00 p.m. The Bobcats then turn their attention to the playoffs, where they are scheduled to face Eagle Mountain in the first round on March 19 at 3:00 p.m.
As the regular season winds down, the momentum inside Bobcat Stadium suggests this team may still have more chapters left to write.
