Bobcats Soccer Earn First Home District Win With Gritty 2–1 Victory.

There really is no place like home for the Benbrook Bobcats, and Friday night proved it.

After a tough district-opening loss to Diamond Hill-Jarvis last week, Benbrook returned to its home field determined to reset the tone of the season.

Standing in the way were the Southwest Raiders, a familiar opponent that had handed the Bobcats a 2–0 loss the last time the teams met in February 2025.

This time, the story flipped.

The Bobcats found their rhythm early and stayed composed throughout the match, scoring twice while limiting Southwest to a single goal in the first half. While no scoring took place per the box score in the second half, the 2–1 win marked the Bobcats’ first district victory of the season and their first home district win, giving the crowd plenty to celebrate.

The result also served as a bit of payback, as the Bobcats showed noticeable growth on both sides of the ball compared to the previous meeting between the teams.

With the win, the Bobcats improved to 6–7 overall and 1–1 in district play, currently sitting sixth in the district standings.

There will be little time to coast. Benbrook now turns its attention to a cross-town rivalry showdown against the Western Hills Cougars, who enter the matchup at 4–6 overall and 1–1 in district play. Kickoff is set for 8:00 pm Tuesday, with momentum and bragging rights both on the line.
