The Benbrook Bobcats boys golf team brought home hardware from the Weatherford Roo Classic at Canyon West Golf Course, finishing first in the team standings against a competitive field.
The Bobcats posted a team score of 322 to secure the tournament title, edging out Fort Worth Boswell at 324. Aledo and Southwest Christian School tied for third at 340.
Individually, the Bobcats placed multiple players near the top of the leaderboard:
- Seth James, a sophomore, finished 2nd overall with a 77
- Brady Peloquin, junior, finished tied for 3rd with a 79
- Jaxyn Donart, a sophomore, shot 83
- Nash Brannon, junior, shot 83
- Asher Rotman, a sophomore, shot 90
Strong individual rounds combined for a balanced team effort, which proved to be the difference. For the Bobcats, it was the kind of steady, consistent play that wins tournaments and builds confidence as the season moves forward.
A first-place finish on a course like Canyon West sends a clear message. The Bobcats are playing solid golf and trending in the right direction.
