Benbrook baseball is not slowing down.
Coming off a decisive win over Southwest Raiders earlier in the week, the Bobcats returned home and delivered another complete performance, defeating the Raiders 9-1 and extending their win streak to four games.
After a quiet first inning, Cameron Crampton helped spark the offense in the second, giving the Bobcats an early lead. The game broke open in the third, when the Bobcats put together an eight-run inning behind timely hitting and pressure on the basepaths.
On the mound, Dan Stiefvater took control and never let go. He struck out 14 over seven innings, allowing just two hits and one run. It was the kind of outing that set the tone from start to finish.
At the plate, Jakim Velasquez led the way with three hits, while Sebastian Martinez-Colon drove in three runs. Crampton added multiple hits, and the Bobcats stayed aggressive with five stolen bases and clean defense throughout the game.
With the win, the Bobcats move to 11-7-1 overall and 4-0 in district, holding first place and building momentum as the schedule continues.
The Bobcats now turn their attention to a road matchup against Iowa Park on March 28 before returning to district play in April.
