Baseball season is back in Benbrook, and expectations are high.

The Benbrook Middle High School Bobcats return after a standout year that saw them finish 26-7 overall and a perfect 10-0 in district play. The team also claimed its fifth bi-district title in six seasons, a run that has built steady confidence around the program.

Scrimmage play has wrapped, with the Bobcats testing themselves against teams such as Wichita Falls and Boyd. Now the real games begin.

Opening day starts Thursday, February 19, at Everman High School. Coach Justin Chavez and his squad face Paschal at 9 a.m. and Haltom at 11 a.m. On Friday, they take on Bridgeport at 1 p.m. and Abilene at 3 p.m. The weekend wraps Saturday with a 1 p.m. matchup against Everman.

For Benbrook families who have followed this teamโ€™s rise, the message is simple. It is time to grab a seat in the stands again.
