Fifth graders curious about orchestra will get a chance to do more than just listen next week.
Benbrook Middle-High School Orchestra is hosting an Instrument Petting Zoo on Thursday, Oct. 15, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the middle school orchestra room.
The event gives future middle school students a hands-on introduction to orchestra, with opportunities to see instruments up close, ask questions and learn what joining the program is like.
For families already thinking about the move to middle school, it is an easy way for students to explore something new before deciding whether orchestra might be for them.
The evening will also include food, music and fun.
