Black Mountain Data Center Expansion Vote Delayed.

Residents following the proposed Black Mountain data center expansion will have to wait a little longer for a decision.

According to comments shared after this week’s meeting, the requested height increase and the electrical substation proposal for the Black Mountain project were delayed and did not come to a vote.

The discussion prompted a broader community conversation about data center development across western Tarrant County.

Some residents expressed concerns about the size and location of the proposed project, while others questioned how it might compare to existing data centers already operating elsewhere in the region.

Several commenters also noted that the Veale Ranch data center near Interstate 20 is a separate project that has already received approval.

However, the Black Mountain proposal, located near the Weston Gardens area and extending into Parker County, remains under consideration. According to residents following the project, the Fort Worth zoning request is now expected to return to the City Council in August.

For now, no action has been taken on the requested expansion, and the proposal remains pending.
