Early morning gatherings do not usually fill a room with this much energy, but the annual Prayer Breakfast at Benbrook Community Center YMCA was about more than breakfast.
Residents, community leaders, and local organizations gathered Thursday morning for a time centered on prayer, encouragement, and service to the city.

The event included fellowship, community remarks, and a keynote message from Chip Baker, whose challenge to attendees was simple and direct: “GO GET IT!” Baker encouraged and inspired attendees to let their charge daily be: Give it your all. Lead with purpose. Serve with heart. Why? Because the community needs you.

The morning also featured participation from local leaders, including Mayor Jason Ward and Josh Harville, as well as support from Pinnacle Bank Texas and Benbrook Par 3 Golf Course.
Organizers described the gathering as a reminder of what can happen when people come together “with purpose, faith, and a heart to serve.”
In a fast-moving world where most conversations happen through screens and schedules stay packed, there is still something grounding about neighbors sitting in the same room, sharing a meal, and being reminded that community is built person by person, one day and moment at a time.
