Benbrook Locals Share Safe, Scenic Spots for Bluebonnet Photos.

Spring has officially arrived in Benbrook, and with it comes the iconic Texas bluebonnet bloom.

Finding the perfect patch of wildflowers—without the backdrop of busy traffic—is a top priority for newcomers and longtime residents alike, especially for those hoping to capture sweet moments with little ones.

Several Benbrook residents weighed in with some of their favorite bluebonnet photo spots that keep safety and scenery in mind. One local favorite sits quietly behind the Benbrook Horse Stables, near the tennis courts and soccer practice fields just off Highway 377 South. This tucked-away gem offers a safe, spacious area for snapping those seasonal family photos.

A bit farther out, the entrance of Pecan Valley Park—popular for kite-flying and biking—offers another bluebonnet-friendly backdrop, just a short six-minute drive from the heart of Benbrook. While not completely removed from roads, some fields near Tarrant County College South Campus have patches set back far enough for peace of mind. For those up for a scenic drive, Lake Whitney State Park—about an hour south—boasts expansive wildflower fields and a bit of Texas nature to enjoy along the way.

Other residents noted blooms along the service road of Loop 820 near Team Ranch Road, just north of I-20, but caution was suggested due to proximity to traffic.

For more options across Texas, the Texas Department of Transportation’s Wildflower Program is a great resource, listing blooming locations throughout the state. You can explore more details and photos through their official site at txdot.gov.

Happy bluebonnet hunting, Benbrook!
