BENBROOK, TX – The Benbrook Public Library recently hosted a free craft swap, giving the community a chance to exchange unused art supplies.
But when leftover materials remained, library staff Alicia Schordine and Ted Avila went the extra mile—donating them to The Welman Project, a nonprofit that provides resources to local classrooms.
This unexpected act of generosity turned an already successful event into a double win for the community—promoting sustainability while supporting education.
Libraries are more than just books; they’re hubs of creativity, connection, and resources. If you haven’t visited yours lately, now’s the time! Check out your local library for events, services, and even free online resources for non-residents.
