For the people who stay calm when everyone else is panicking, the City of Benbrook is looking to add more voices behind the headset.
The city is currently hiring Police Communications Specialists, the dispatchers responsible for answering emergency calls, coordinating communication systems, and helping first responders get where they need to go during critical moments.
The position offers a salary range of approximately $54,500 to $73,000 annually and requires applicants to be at least 18 years old, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and type at least 40 words per minute. Candidates should also have basic knowledge of computers and office equipment.
While police officers are often the faces seen on emergency scenes, communications specialists are typically the first point of contact when residents call for help, making the role one of the most important positions inside public safety operations.
The position remains open until filled. Applications and full job details are available through the City of Benbrook Jobs Center.
