Benbrook has a new code enforcement officer on the beat, and residents are taking notice.
Reports are rolling in about citations for tall grass, cars parked on lawns, and piles of brush cluttering the curbs. And for the most part, the community seems to welcome it.
Some residents are cheering the changes, glad to see cleaner streets and long-overdue accountability. One neighbor said they’re tired of their street looking like a mess, while another offered their lawn care services for anyone looking to avoid a citation. Others brought up common issues, like trash cans left in the road or tree limbs sitting out for weeks with no city pickup.
Not everyone’s frustrated, though. Several pointed out that overgrown brush isn’t always on the homeowner. Tree crews have been slow or absent, making it difficult for people to stay in compliance. And when trash collectors toss bins into the street while folks are at work, it doesn’t help either.
Still, most seem to agree: the effort to clean up Benbrook is a welcome change. A little accountability can go a long way, especially when it comes to maintaining the neighborhood’s appearance.
