Benbrook drivers have faced a long string of delays this week thanks to repeated standstills along the Union Pacific line at Aledo Road and RM 2871.
What started as an occasional slowdown turned into a near-daily obstacle, with trains stopping during the morning rush, lunchtime errands, and evening commutes.
The most disruptive moment came when a semi truck became stuck on the tracks earlier in the week, halting traffic for nearly four hours. Residents reported long lines, missed appointments, and creative detours as they tried to navigate around the mess.
By Friday night, many hoped the worst was behind them. Instead, the crossing arms dropped again around 7:52 p.m., signaling yet another delay. Some drivers noted the train had stopped just down the tracks, prompting many to reroute until things cleared. Fortunately, traffic returned to normal a little after 8 p.m.
It has been a test of patience for anyone who relies on that corridor, and locals are keeping a close eye on the crossing as they head into the weekend, hoping for smoother travel ahead.
