A small but relatable mystery has been making its way around Benbrook households this week: garage doors that rise all the way up, pause, then drop three or four times before finally staying open.
One resident asked if anyone else had seen this strange behavior. The answers poured in. Turns out, several neighbors had battled the same problem, often at the worst possible moment, like rushing out the door in the morning.
The most common culprit: misaligned safety sensors. When the two small sensors near the bottom of the tracks are not pointed at each other or one stops working, the door thinks something is blocking it and automatically reverses. Realigning them or clearing any debris usually solves it.
